5 Reasons Why Your Website Needs a Makeover to Get More Leads

Do you experience lots of traffic on your website but your business’ conversion rates don’t even come close to what you’re expecting? Maybe it’s time to take a critical look at your website. A well-maintained website gives you more leads! But keeping a website up to date is one of those things that gets pushed to the side when things get busy.website-tips-to-generate-leads

Here’s a simple guide to 5 quick website tips to keep your site generating more new leads:

1 – Update your Testimonial Page

Adding customer testimonials on your site is one of the most powerful things you can do on your website. We recommend implementing testimonials as quick as you can. The reviews of your customers can be your most compelling marketing messages. Why? First off, it gives your prospects an insight on how your service or product works from a customer’s perspective. Secondly, you can use testimonials to gain trust.

It can be tedious to get reviews and testimonials from your customers because it can be time-consuming. If you run a business, you must have some happy customers. So ask them to tell you a little bit about why they’re happy.  It may take some extra effort but it will be worth it. Before your customer or client walks out your store doors, don’t be afraid to ask or encourage them to leave feedback or perhaps share their experience shopping at your store. Make sure to publish them on your page and share it through your business’ social platforms.

2 – Make your Website Responsive

Most of you know about the need for responsive web design. The need for a seamless, multi-device experience is too high to ignore. The most cost-effective way is to redesign a responsive-friendly website for all devices – desktops, smartphones, and tablets.

For businesses that haven’t embraced all the screens of the modern world, there’s no better path to increasing leads than a responsive site redesign. If there’s a way to update the customer experience by creating an app or using social media, go ahead and embrace that, too. Pushing your brand further into the digital realm – even if it’s outside your comfort zone – is the best thing you can do for your business.

3 – Create and Test Multiple Landing Pages

Every marketer knows that importance of A/B testing when it comes to running campaigns; same goes with lead generation. Have multiple landing pages and be able to pinpoint which page converts better. This way, you’ll have an idea which design or content work best and use this information to improve your landing pages.

4 – Try Adding Videos

VideoMarketingVideos easily attract engagement since it can hold the attention longer than reading a long article. As you know,  people these days have shorter attention spans. Companies and businesses should leverage video marketing because you can relay your products or services’ entire message in less than a minute. Further, you can re-purpose these videos and share portions or parts of them on other medium.

In today’s world, the faster and simpler form of delivering a message are preferred so that people immediately understand what they need to do right after seeing the video. Hence, they are more likely to convert and buy from you.

5 – Add Appealing CTAs or Call-to-Actions in Every Single Web Page

People like to know what to do next when they are engaged with your page. A good way to give your customers an idea of how you want them to act is to create a goal for each of your landing pages. You might want them to purchase, or call, or sign up.  Whatever your page goal, make sure everything supports that action.  In other words, make sure the image, a text or the video are all geared towards helping visitors take one very specific action.

In addition, it pays to publish your business location, email or contact information on every single page of your website. You’ll never know when a prospect might want to contact you. It might be right after viewing your business’ portfolio page or having read a blog post.

This article was based on a blog post by my colleague, Chuck Bankoff.  Chuck has written a great article on 5 website makeover tips.  I even had to take notes myself and have found several ideas to implement for myself and my clients.  Take a few minutes to read it here.
